Last week we feasted our eyes on a sea of nautically-inspired quilted projects for Sewvivor’s first challenge. It was quite impossible to choose only 10 favorites- each project was unique, creative, and ultimately amazing. Voting contestant’s off the island really isn’t fair in the least. Sadly, we had to say goodbye to 6. But our original Sewvivor 16 have committed to stay close, and some will even sew along with the rest if they are voted off. This group– every person– is amazing. I just love ’em!
This challenge was:
Here are the 10 contestants who will advance to compete in Challenge #2: Quilted Bag.

We say goodbye to these three FANSTASTIC seamstresses/bloggers/friends.
A big round of applause for a job well done!
These projects were awesome, and we will miss these girls!
Thankfully they won’t go home empty-handed after all their hard work. They will receive a gift in the mail soon!

Chelise from Chelise Patterson

Linh from Calling All Stitchers
Here is the breakdown from the public voting and judges:
Would you like to sew along with the contestants for fun? We’d love to see your work! Upload to the Sewvivor Sew-Along Flickr group. Or post on Instagram, tagging @sewvivor and @familyeverafter and use hashtags #sewvivor and #sewvivorsewalong! A “SewPrize” will be given to a random sewalong participant, announced at each Challenge Result post. The new theme for the next two weeks is: Quilted Bag, so feel free to jump in!
And now for the Nautical SewAlong winner, chosen at random (by scrolling through the hashtag on IG with my eyes closed and tapping a picture). She will win a shirt from Patchwork Threads!
Congrats: @daydreamofquilts with your gorgeous whale!
