If you’re a fabric lover like me, you’ve probably heard of her new line called Arizona for Art Gallery Fabrics. It is magical. I am crazy about her frontier-like, geometrical designs. I love that they are gender neutral. Seriously, these fabrics were SO fun to play with. I have a list of about ten things I’d like to make with them! The hand (feel) of Art Gallery Fabrics is so different than most other cottons. It is soft and buttery. I am just swooning over these fabrics.
I used my Ruffle Duffle Bag pattern to show off April’s fabrics. This was my first time making a quilted version of my bag, and I LOVE how it turned out! (If you want to make this bag… hang in there! Details are coming)!
I used a diamond quilting pattern on the front pocket, quilted with a #50 weight Aurifil floss. And here’s a view of the side of the bag.
I used one of my favorite prints called Arid Horizon. I lined it with Token Triangles. I am so excited about how this happy little accident happened… the shapes lined up better than I planned!
I made a quilt-as-you-go version of the pocket, and added it to the inside. On the outside it would have clashed with the already amazing shapes that April designed. I love how it stands out from the inside of the bag.
So…. are you in love with these fabrics? There are several other prints that I didn’t even show you! I’m so excited to give away a whole FAT QUARTER BUNDLE of April’s amazing Arizona fabrics! To keep things simple, this giveaway is only available to enter on Instagram (my apologies for those who don’t have an account).
And be sure to check out the whole Arizona Fabric blog tour so you can see what else is being made and enter to win a Fat Quarter bundle!
