Any HGTV fans out there? How about Joann? I’m a big fan of both!!!
I have some fun news… they recently teamed up, and HGTV has released a new line of indoor/outdoor home decor weight fabrics, sold exclusively at Joann. I was so excited when I found out about this, and even more thrilled when I saw how lovely they are. I was just at Joanns last week, and I checked out the entire line of the new HGTV fabrics. I really liked the blues and greens.
I was sent some fabric to try out. I love the pretty pinks and oranges in the Urban Blossoms and Checkered Past line. Upon seeing them, I immediately thought that they would look great in my daughter’s room. We’ve been decorating it very slowly… I’ve made their canopies and dust ruffles, we have some cute picture frames, and my last project is to decorate their walls.
I opted for a no-sew project this time around. That’s what I love about fabric, I love decorating with it. You’re not required to know how to sew just to be able to work with beautiful textiles. I’ll use it whenever I can… in wooden hoops, picture frames, buntings, reupholstering, you name it! Fabric is my weakness 🙂
So here’s what we did… we made some Fabric Hoop Decorations for their wall. I let my daughters help with this project since it is for their room.
First, we bought our inexpensive wooden embroidery hoops from Joanns.
Then I let the girls paint them.
Then I took over. I cut around the fabric- no need to measure.
Then I assembled the hoop, flipped it over, and cut the excess fabric away.
Voila! A fun little pop of color.
I’ll be doing a full reveal of my girl’s bedroom sometime this year 🙂
Here are a few other projects that other blogger’s have made with the new HGTV fabrics:
Table Runner from Positively Splendid
Park Bag from iCandy Handmade

I love how she put fabric in picture frames!
Here’s a coupon for 10% off the new HGTV fabrics available at Joann, for anyone to use! It expires this Saturday, May 4.
I received complimentary fabric in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own.
