Are you a “list maker?” I have been a chronic slave to a list for a very long time… probably since I was in middle school. And I am raising 2 daughters who prove to be thriving on lists as well! I can’t say its a bad thing to be list-dependent, as long as the list serves you well.
Last fall, the OCD list-maker in me spent about 5 hours designing these chore charts for my girls, using Microsoft Word. It was a job that would have taken me a lot less time now that I’ve learned more about graphic design. So needless to say, they already need to be updated, because since then, the kid’s responsibilities have changed. (Well, not the brushing your teeth and cleaning your room chores, much to their chagrin)!
I was beyond thrilled when My Job Chart contacted me and introduced me to their miracle website. What is it? In short, it’s an online chore chart for kids!

My Job Chart is the free, easy to use, online chore chart and reward system for teaching, organizing and motivating your kids to Save, Share and Spend responsibly.
I think the idea is brilliant. Our kids feel so grown up when they are allowed computer time. (As much as I’d like to fight it, I must admit that it is important for kids to learn how to navigate the computer). They see computer time as a privilege, and now, even following their chore routine can be seen as a privilege!

Here is an example of how it works, and how it can be completely personalized for each child. I would have thrived on something like this as a child!

My Job Chart has some amazing features… let me take a minute to point a few of them out.
  • It is free!
  • I don’t have to spend hours designing a new chore chart!
  • It is very user friendly.
  • It has opportunities to teach kids about working hard, responsibility, saving, spending, and sharing.
  • It makes it easy for parents to assign chores and more motivating and meaningful for children to fulfill them.
I am so looking forward to helping my kids settle into a more structured after-school routine, and I know this is just the ticket.
I definitely recommend giving My Job Chart a try… because it is where kids, work, and reward click!
