Sisters.

I was blessed with four of them. Each sister is unique, yet we are practically the same. We tell the same jokes, wear the same clothes, hate the same foods, play the same games, love the same movies, even come from the same goofy parents.

My sisters.

I am who I am because I have sisters. I pray for each of them every single day. I talk to them on the phone. When I daydream, often they are in my memories. I miss them all (we all live so far apart).

A sister.

“A sister is a special friend.” That’s what I cross-stitched for my oldest sister for her birthday, probably 20 years ago. That phrase couldn’t be more true. We’ve always been the best of friends.

Sisterhood.

Sisters are the people you can trust. They give you new ideas. They encourage you. They tell you the truth. They cry and laugh with you. We are so lucky to have such a strong bond. My sisters mean everything to me.

Silly sisters.

If we’re lucky, we get together once a year. That means once a year, I get to be the person who has no reservations, I can be totally ME when I’m with THEM. When we’re together, we always snatch up the moment to take a 5-sister picture.

Sister-in-law.

She started out as a friend, and I was so lucky the day she became my sister. She’s smart, and funny, and gorgeous, and the best auntie in the world!

Daughters.

I am blessed to be the mommy of two sisters. They are two years apart, and are the best of friends. They stick up for each other no matter what. They look out for each other. They play and color and sing and dance together every day. It is such a unique joy to raise a pair of sisters. They know how much my sisters mean to me. They already feel the same love and bond between each other.

Celebrating Sisterhood…

Last week, I received the best news ever. I was given the opportunity to review Disney’s newest movie, “Secret of the Wings,” starring Tinker Bell and her… twin sister! There was some serious jumping up and down when I told my daughters (ages 6 and 4) the exciting news. They have literally watched the preview on Pixie Hollow over and over. Its release is scheduled at the end of October. We had a Tinker Bell movie marathon over the weekend, starting with “Tinker Bell”, then “The Lost Treasure”, then “The Great Fairy Rescue”, and ending it with “Secret of the Wings”. We thought the movie was so magical. My favorite part was the beautiful music.

 At one point of the movie, our oldest daughter left her spot on the couch and snuggled up to her little sister. She took her eyes off the movie, hugged her sister, and told her how much she loves her. If only the Disney creators could have seen the moment… I’m positive that is exactly the emotion they’d love to see between two sisters, during such a sweet movie made just for them!
