I’m kind of a sucker for a good hair blog or tutorial that teaches me how to do my hair. (I need all the help I can get). I love that they’ve been popping up all over the place these days. I’m sharing a few favorites at the end of this post.
I’ve always felt like my hair was a blessing and a curse at the same time. Don’t get me wrong- I am so thankful to have nice hair. But it is so thick and heavy, that sometimes I just don’t know what to do with it! My hair will hardly hold a curl. So, I get excited when I find a new hairstyle that stays in all day and doesn’t give me a migraine headache. (I’m serious. I’m the opposite of a pill-popper, but there have been a handful of times when I wore my hair “up” and by the end of the day I had such a splitting headache that I had to take medicine)! So here are a few styles that are new to me, and I’ve been wearing my hair like this all summer, because they actually work!

Side bun.
(Or at least the idea of a side bun. My sister who is here visiting was laughing her head off when she took this pic. She doesn’t think it looks very cute. I would have to agree. haha)!

The waterfall braid.
(pretty please ignore the mess of toys in the background)!

3 twisted buns.

The fishtail.

Pigtails.

(this was from 2 summers ago). I’m debating if I should cut my hair short again. I loved it!

When all else fails, just throw on a headband or a hat. As I’ve mentioned, I love wearing hair accessories!

So here are a few of my favorite blogs with great hairstyle tips. A lot of my ideas have come from these bloggers.

This is Mallory and Split Ends and New Beginnings is her blog.
She’s doing a 30 Day Hair Challenge and has done a great giveaway. I’m excited to see where she goes with this blog! She just cut her beautiful hair and I am dying to see pictures!
This is Meryn and this is her blog.
She’s got a fun spunky style and some great ideas called “Hair for the Everyday Mom.”
The beehive is her tribute to Amy Winehouse.

She did a 30 days of hair challenge that was so fun and successful. She has a lot of helpful video tutorials. I especially appreciated the one about how she swoops her bangs!

is a popular blog that every so often has fun hair tutorials. You can search her blog for a lot of the hair posts.
Lovenotes by Lauryn
is a cute blog. She is doing a series called “The ABCs of Hair” during the month of August. Check it out so far, its still the beginning!

I’m always adding new ideas that I find, thanks to talented hair stylists like the gals I just mentioned!

Have a great (hair) day!
