Here is a little sneak peak at the recent family photos we had taken by my awesome and talented friend, and the outfits we made for the session.
We… as in my 3 year old, 5 year old, and I… made the skirts together. Stay tuned for a future post on my philosophies of sewing with children. They can do more than I thought!!!
We used the Simple Skirt tutorial from the blog MADE.(which, by the way, the winner of her header contest just happens to be one of my old college friends, Marissa! I didn’t even know she had a blog until I found her through MADE. What a small and random blogging world this is)!
The tutorial was so quick and easy, that while I was at it, I made an extra skirt for my friend Tera’s little girl. Then of course I had to make a shirt, bow, and tie onesie to complete the set. haha.
(I promised her outfits in exchange for highlighting my hair. I wish people bartered more in our society. It was so fun)!
I purchased all the fabric at Hobby Lobby.
After we had finished the skirts, I realized that the only shoes my girls had to wear were pink, so I created my own bias tape out of pink fabric I had laying around, which really make a statement, and added the pink embellishments onto the skirt to tie it all together.
I’ll post a tutorial on how I made the flower bows next week.
Thanks for looking!
